The Muse -Motivational News --Me, myself, and I. How big is your self-esteem? Issue #014
April 01, 2006
Hi,

Me, myself, and I. How big is your self-esteem?

Are you able to take responsibility for your actions? Do you enjoy life? How is your interaction with others? Are you loved and do you love?

See if you can improve your self-esteem with these tips:

Can you hear the little voice in your head? What does it tell you most of time? Are you silently absorbing a negative image of yourself?
Try to replace the negative thought with a positive one.

What does your surroundings looks like? Who are your friends? Do they make you feel good, valued, recognized, loved?
Stay away from the negatives or the draining ones.

How about your home? Are you happy to go home?
Personalize your house, hang pictures you love, drawings from kids, motivational quotes, posters, arts, crafts. Anything that makes you feel good. What if you don’t have perfect décor. Make yourself happy and serene. Surround yourself with what you think of as beauty.

Do you value your work, your outside activities?
It’s important to feel useful, the more we feel we are making a difference, the more we increase our self-worth.

Do something you believe in, help others, even if you think it’s small stuff.
Your workplace is not the only place where you can find meaning. Family, hobbies, volunteering environmentally or globally can make you feel valued. Find your niche. Make a difference!

Don’t forget to dream.
Set yourself some goals. Small or big. Once reached, your self-esteem improves and you will be proud.

Self-esteem has a big impact on how we enjoy life. Respect others, yourself, and life in general.

Become the person you can be. Treat yourself well. You deserve it.
